Watching You Watching Me

While watching Euronews I saw a story about this great exhibit devoted to Diego Rodriguez de Silva y Velázquez now at the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square.

One of the paintings is "Venus at Her Mirror." We see Venus' face in reflection. But we also see that she knows we are looking at her as Cupid faithfully holds a mirror.
